Followers may vanish from the game completely when the Dragonborn enters the Goldenglow Estate building or sewer, even if they are essential. To prevent this, do not bring the follower along to complete the quest. If Brynjolf is not allowed to finish his speech on the previous quest, he may remain in his stall indefinitely. This may occur if they are not burnt in order, rather than the first 3 seen. No known fix for PS3.
Aringoth may become stuck inside furniture. However, this does not interfere with the quest. If you want, you can get the key to the safe from Aringoth himself. You can persuade him or kill him.
You can find him on the second floor. You can also pickpocket or loot the cellar key from him. The cellar door can be unlocked by picking the lock or getting a key from a guard or Aringoth himself. Continue to the basement and make your way to the safe.
You can open this easily if you have the safe key. Otherwise, your lockpicking skill will need to be rather high for this endeavor to be successful. I wasn't able to complete this quest because of that, and so it affected every other quest after that, that required a quest item to be picked up from a body or a container.
Tried loading an old save, finished the Cidhna Mine quest properly, and all is good now. The sewer entrance is just to the left, hidden in some grass. If you are there at night if you are not you really should be , Aringoth will be found on the top floor. If you entered through the back door expert lock , you can easily make it to Aringoth's room without alerting any guards.
When you see a bunch of mercenaries sitting at a table behind a bookshelf, turn left and enter the dining room. Once you exit from the opposite side, turn left again to go up the stairs to the top floor.
Aringoth is in a bedroom nearby. Sleeping if you went there at night so pickpocket the key off him. At the base of the stairs to the second floor, the gate barring the way to the stairs to the basement should be right in front of you. It is locked though novice lock but should not pose a difficult barrier. Pick it and head down into the basement. In the first area, you will see two mercenaries in the far right corner.
Continue on straight ahead towards a door.
