The fruity rum can be kept in the lower portion of the fridge, and it will last for months if the seal is not left open. Still, it can be freeze to lock its freshness. Due to the presence of more sugar, it becomes solid on freezing. It must be kept at room temperature for some time for thawing, and any heat contact must be avoided. The shelf life for your fruity coconut rum is two years. It can also be consumed after two years, but the flavor and refreshing aroma of rum start to fade away after two years, and an unopened bottle can be consumed even after ten years if the bottle is properly stored.

The bottle must be taken good care of. If opened, the seal must be closed tightly. The opened rum bottle can last up to 1 year, but the natural taste starts to get away after that. As noted above I'm not a fan of vodka; I also never really developed a taste for gin or tequila. Hey, I just realized that there seems to be a pattern -- I only like hard liquor that is aged in oak barrels! Captain Ned Global Moderator.

Fire pits are easy; vodka What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum. JustAnEngineer Gerbil God. To begin with, Malibu rum will not get frozen by your typical average home freezer. When you try to freeze it, it will probably just turn icy. Depending on the rum quality, it may end up turning to a rum syrup instead of getting frozen.

When most whiskeys are put in the freezer, the same happens to them. The temperature of a typical home freezer is not cold enough to freeze hard liquor. However, a beer may freeze because most of its content is water. When the temperatures in the freezer get too cold, some rum bottles may but completely break. Malibu rum is a perfect drink. We all love it for its refreshing taste, especially when chilled and cold. Interestingly, this beverage lasts for quite a long time while kept under optimal conditions.

The best way to keep this drink for long is by storing it in a cool and dry pantry. Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.

I personally would not keep the Malibu rum in the fridge. I've found that sweet liqueurs kept in refrigeration are likely to crystallise in the cold. Of course you've to make sure that the lip of the bottle is cleaned well when you're keeping it in there too, but honestly the best way to keep liquors is out in the open so you can be reminded that it's there to be drunk!

Kotensu posted Agreed, While I enjoy that rush maps are more open in Armored Kill it seems Rush favors the attackers. Rush on Armored Kill needs better vehicle balance. User Info: ProfanaT. I've been doing AK Conquest, not Rush yet.

The AC in Conquest is pretty much a sitting duck, unless the air support for the controlling team can take out the enemy jets and heli. I've taken out enemy air whilst in it, but as for ground control, still a learning curve to get the aim just right, but I have been on the receiving end of a well coordinated AC attack. User Info: ecureuil. It's a flying coffin and a total waste of time. It's FAR easier to bring it down than it is to kill anything with it, in fact in just a few games I've taken down the gunship 5 or 6 times already, three times in jets, and I'm still yet to get a kill when I'm in it.

User Info: Arkma3. I was on the fence, but after several hours of gaming, I've come to what I think is a fairly solid conclusion, though of course I may still change my mind as time goes on and I learn the maps or more specifically, where the best overhead cover is! Keep in mind, I've only been playing Rush, and as such, my argument only concerns rush. I kept switching teams and servers to get a more balanced opinion limiting the possibility I was just on a rubbish defending team , and still I came to the same conclusion.

The main problem, is the AC is so powerful as it should be , that you HAVE to take it out immediately, otherwise either the guns will ruin your team, or the parachuting soldiers that drop in behind you will. This, coupled with the fact that, as mentioned by a couple of the users above, the defenders are seriously outmatched when it comes to armour I think Rush need's major balancing. Learn more about the genetics of eye color, including:. Genetic makeup determines the amount of melanin in the eye. All eye colors have the same brown melanin incapable of refracting light. The difference in eye colors is due to the concentration and location of the brown melanin on the two layers of the iris. People with brown eyes have melanin on the back layer of the iris and some on the front layer, which absorbs more light and causes the iris to look brown.

Eyes with no melanin on the front layer of the iris scatter light so that more blue light reflects out, so that the eyes appear blue. The chromosomes a child inherits carry genetic information that determines eye color. Differences in the copies received from each parent causes variations in the amount of melanin produced.

A region on chromosome 15 has a big part in determining eye color. The OCA2 gene formerly called the P gene provides instructions for producing the P protein located in the melanocytes specialized cells that produce melanin. If more protein is produced, then the eyes received more melanin, and eye color leans toward the brown end of the color spectrum.

When less protein is produced, the eyes receive less melanin and eye color leans toward the blue end of the spectrum.

Although nearly 75 percent of eye color is controlled by the OCA2 gene, other genes provide a pathway for melanin. These genes can raise or lower melanin levels, causing a child to have more or less melanin than either parent. These variations can result in blue-eyed parents having a brown-eyed child, or brown-eyed parents having a blue-eyed child.

The former is more likely than the latter. Each cell in the human body normally contains 23 pairs of chromosomes. Chromosome 15 likely contains to genes integral to producing proteins. The presence of at least one genetic variation in the HERC2 gene can reduce the amount of melanin produced, leading to lighter eyes.

Eye color was once thought to be the result of a single hereditary trait. It was thought that each person received one eye color gene from each parent, and the dominant gene determined eye color. In this model, the brown-eye color gene was always dominant over the blue-eye color gene, and only two blue-eye color genes could color eyes blue. Charles and Gertrude Davenport developed the dominant brown eye model in They suggested that blue eyes were caused by a single recessive gene, and blue-eyed parents could never produce a brown-eyed child.

Dominant and recessive genes refer to inheritance patterns, and describe how likely it is for a certain trait to pass from parent to offspring. Today, we know this model is simplistic, and that many genes determine that eye color. While it is possible to predict the probability of eye color, genetic factors may alter the outcome. With eye color controlled by more than one gene, it is possible for a newborn to inherit any eye color.

Predicting eye color is further complicated because it sometimes changes after birth. According to one theory, almost everyone This is based on the DNA analysis of about blue-eyed people, in which only one person did not have the same blue-eye genetic mutation as the rest of the group.

This mutation seems to have occurred during the Neolithic period or New Stone Age during the great agricultural migration to the northern part of Europe. A previous Biotech article that provides an overview of comparative genomics can be found here. Eye color genes In humans, eye color is determined by the amount of light that reflects off the iris, a muscular structure that controls how much light enters the eye. Blue eyes contain minimal amounts of pigment within a small number of melanosomes.

Irises from green—hazel eyes show moderate pigment levels and melanosome number, while brown eyes are the result of high melanin levels stored across many melanosomes see figure two, left. To date, eight genes have been identified which impact eye color. OCA2 produces a protein called P-protein that is involved in the formation and processing of melanin.

Individuals with OCA2 mutations that prevent P-protein from being produced are born with a form of albinism. These individuals have very light colored hair, eyes and skin. Non-disease-causing OCA2 variants alleles have also been identified. The allele that results in high levels of P-protein is linked to brown eyes. Another allele, associated with blue eye color, dramatically reduces the P-protein concentration. However, while about three-fourths of eye color variation can be explained by genetic changes in and around this gene, OCA2 is not the only influence on color.

A recent study that compared eye color to OCA2 status showed that 62 percent of individuals with two copies of the blue-eyed OCA2 allele, as well as 7.

The genetic tests for these codes is extensive. If you are interested in our gender selection program and are ready to enroll in gender selection, we may also have options for you to bring down the cost of initial screening to see if you are candidates to select eye color.

If your guest agrees, a community mediator can talk with you and the guest to see if you can reach an agreement. Make sure you arrive and are seated in the courtroom by AM. The judge will explain how the process works and what help may be available. If you do not speak English or are deaf or hard of hearing, make sure you tell the courtroom clerk before the announcement begins.

The clerk will read the names of all parties who are scheduled to appear. You must answer "here" or "present" and state your name when your name is called. Make sure you can hear the clerk clearly. If you cannot hear, raise your hand and let the clerk know.

If you miss your name and fail to answer, your case may be dismissed. If the defendant does not answer when the case is called, you can ask the clerk to enter a "default" against the guest.

If you do not hear your name during the roll call or you are late arriving to court and aren't sure if your name was called, you should speak to the clerk in the courtroom after the roll call is over and make sure that the clerk knows that you are present. Ask the judge to grant a non-redeemable judgment in your case.

You also should immediately call your guest or the guest's attorney to tell him or her that you cannot appear.

If you have time to come to court on another day before your court date, you can file a notice with the court explaining that you cannot come to court and requesting a new date. If the clerk does not give you another date to appear in court, get to court as soon as possible and find out what happened. Even if you call the court, the judge may still dismiss your case. If your case is dismissed because you are not there, it is called a "dismissal for want of prosecution," and you can usually file a motion to re-open the case or file a new case.

If the guest does not come to court on the initial hearing date, you can usually have a "default" entered against the guest during the morning roll call.

In most cases, a default means that a judgment for possession will be entered after you file paperwork with the court proving that the defendant is not in the military. In some cases, you are also required to present proof called "ex parte" proof of your case to the court before you can get a judgment for possession, even if the guest does not come to court or if the guest came to court but left or did not come back to court for a continued hearing.

If proof is required, the judge might set another court date about two weeks after your first one. Wetlands can be a good investment, but the value of the property and whether this is a smart choice for you will depend on your personal goals for the land. What are Wetlands? Wetlands are land areas that are saturated with water. They may be saturated only during certain times of the year, or they may be saturated permanently. Wetlands are, in essence, their own ecosystem, and they include aquatic plant vegetation. Many people do not realize that wetlands play an important role in the environment, particularly for flood control, water purification, shoreline stability and carbon sink.

These special areas of land are also considered some of the most biologically diverse of all the ecosystems of the world. They often are home to a wide variety of different plants and animal life. Because of their important role in the environment, private landowners are often limited by where they can build and how they can use their land if it contains wetlands.

Should it border running water, have a pond or even wetlands? The wetlands equation can be a little sticky in that there is some confusion and lack of knowledge about wetlands. If you hunt waterfowl , they are good. Some people like them. Some people think they are a waste of good space. The presence of wetlands also impacts what you can do with and how you can enjoy the property.

It can also impact how to go forward with your development plans. Regulations and rules for dealing with wetlands can be a bit confusing and involved. Clint and I are experienced land professionals who specialize in hunting and recreational property, many times that include wetlands. Both Martin and DePaola have extensive experience dealing with property that feature wetlands and know what you can, cannot and should or should not do with them.

That slowing of water movement and filtering results in less erosion and improved water quality. The guidelines and permit process is overseen and enforced by the U. Army Corps of Engineers and either Florida or Alabama state departments. In addition, there are local ordinances and regulations that may or may not come into play. You want to make sure that your mitigation will be equal to or greater in value to the portion of the wetland that you will destroy during your project.

Even if you can build, maintenance will be significant. Rather than investing in wetlands, you may consider a different type of property with lower maintenance. Outside of permit requirements and environmental regulations, some construction projects fail because it is difficult to build in areas that are prone to wetness. Thus, if you have the option, avoid wetlands altogether, unless you are just looking to use the land for recreational purposes.

Be sure to thoroughly consider your choice before you decide to build on wetlands. For more information on buying, selling, or investing in vacant land, check out our other resources below.

It has already had a wetland study. Would this still be suitable to build on the front half and stay off of the wetlands? Hello Sharon, Typically there are setback requirements around a wetland that will also impact where you can build on your lot.

Every county also has slightly different requirements for septic and well permits so you should give them a call to go over what these requirements are and how they may impact the area of your property that is buildable. I hope this helps! You missed one vital point. The government cannot prevent anyone from using wetlands for agricultural purposes normal in the area, including growing crops as well as for arbor farms.

I live in Florida. Even if you dig a man-made pond, the epa can and regularly does classify it as wetlands. I say pay me for my land if you want to protect it, if not, stay off of my farm. By the way, where are my manners, thank you for the article.

Very informative with very valuable information and I will be subscribing. We are looking at a property that has wetlands, but the front of the property alongside the road has two dilapidated cottages. Since they were there already, could we demolish them, Rebuild and rent them out, wIthout worrying about regulations?

Hello Trisha, we would be careful in a situation like this since the cottages could have been built before wetland regulations came into play or they could have been built illegally. You may want to reach out to both the county and your local Army Corps of Engineers Office to see what is allowed. I am planning to buy a sigle family home in a community and recently came to know that the lot I am interested was a wet land before but it is filled now and i could see homes already built around my lot.

Hi Eric, it really depends on whether a federal or state-designated wetland is still located on the property. I would check with a local real estate attorney or broker to see if a wetland still exists on the lot and, if so, what rules and regulations are in place. Hello Jamie, that sounds like a tough situation.

I would suggest that you speak with a local attorney to see what your options are. You may even be able to find an attorney who will offer free minute consultation calls to start. Hello Janice, if there are both wetlands and endangered species on your property, it will be difficult.

You will first have to reach out to your local Army Corps of Engineers office for a permit to build on or near the wetlands. You will also want to reach out to the US Fish and Wildlife Service to see if you will need a permit from them due to the presence of endangered species. There may also be state level permits required.

I purchased 30 acres of land in Dryden NY. It has about 14 Acres of Preserves. The beavers are building a dam off of Hwy and it is causing flooding. I spoke with the Highway department and they said it nothing that I can do because I planning on building in Wetlands. I purchased the property from a reputable company that made sure that the utilities were bought to the land.

Should I get a lawyer or should I find a developer to start the building process and hope for the best? Hello Joanne, I am sorry to hear about your situation. Unfortunately, building on a wetland is very difficult, and even if you are legally able to do it, flooding and drainage can be major headaches.

Thank you for this great article, I found it very helpful. I have 10 acers of land in VT and it was a hay field for generations prior. A previous land owner put a ditch running through the middle of it to help with flooding that would happen due to the land being a slight bowl shape. What are my chances here? Hello Michaela, if you are simply trying to improve the wetlands, I would think this would be ok, but you should give the local Army Corps of Engineers office a call.

For these students, it is important to be aware of the rules under their student visa when it comes to work. International students in Australia on a valid student visa can work for up to 20 hours per week while school is in session, and there is no limit on the number of hours an international student can work during recognized school vacations.

A work week in Australia is considered to be Monday through the following Sunday. Although they are allowed to arrive in Australia up to 90 days before their course begins, students are not allowed to begin working until after their courses have begun.

The hour-per-week limit does not extend to any work the student is required to undertake as a component of his or her studies or training.

Volunteer and unpaid work, however, does count towards the 20 hours. If an international student works more than the Australian restrictions allow, his or her visa may be cancelled. Family members spouses and children accompanying the international student under their student visa have the same work rights as the student — 20 hours per week. Unlike the students, family members may not exceed 20 hours per week, even during holidays.

Off-label, venlafaxine can be used for attention deficit disorder, fibromyalgia, diabetic neuropathy, complex pain syndromes, hot flashes, migraine prevention, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder.

Venlafaxine may be used independently or as part of combination therapy with other drugs. This activity outlines the indications, mechanism of action, administration methods, significant adverse effects, contraindications, toxicity, and monitoring, of venlafaxine so providers can direct patient therapy where it is indicated as part of the interprofessional team. Objectives: Identify the approved and off-label indications for venlafaxine. Describe the adverse effects associated with venlafaxine, including the FDA black-box warning.

Summarize the relevant drug-drug interactions of venlafaxine. Explain the importance of collaboration and coordination among the interprofessional team and how it can enhance patient care with venlafaxine therapy to improve patient outcomes for patients who have depression and related conditions for which it is indicated. The prevalence of mental disorders in the United States is approximately 30 percent. The global burden of disease statistics shows that four of the ten most important causes of disease worldwide are psychiatric in origin.

The pathophysiology behind psychiatric disorders is the imbalance of the complex neurotransmitter system in the brain. This article will focus on venlafaxine, which belongs to the class of antidepressants called serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors SNRIs. Venlafaxine works by increasing serotonin levels, norepinephrine, and dopamine in the brain by blocking transport proteins and stopping their reuptake at the presynaptic terminal. This action leads to more transmitters available at the synapse and ultimately increases the stimulation of postsynaptic receptors.

SNRIs act primarily upon serotonergic and noradrenergic neurons but have little or no effect upon cholinergic or histaminergic receptors.

Venlafaxine is a bicyclic phenylethylamine compound. Venlafaxine is prescribed only for those 18 years and older and should not be used in children under Venlafaxine should be taken with food, and patients should not take it with alcohol as combining alcohol and venlafaxine can lead to increased sedation.

Venlafaxine comes in an oral tablet and an oral capsule. The oral tablets come in immediate-release 25 mg, The immediate-release tablet can be cut or crushed, but the extended-release tablet may not be. Treatment for depression for the immediate release oral table typically starts at 75 mg total per day, given in two or three divided doses.

The typical starting dose of the extended-release oral tablet is 75 mg per day, taken as a single dose in the morning or evening. This dose can be increased by 75 mg every four days until reaching the maximum dose of mg per day. Venlafaxine causes a lower frequency of anticholinergic, sedating, and cardiovascular side effects but a higher incidence of gastrointestinal complaints, sleep impairment, and sexual dysfunction than TCAs. Additionally, venlafaxine may impair sexual function, resulting in diminished libido, impotence, or difficulty achieving orgasm.

Sexual dysfunction frequently results in noncompliance and should be asked about specifically. Sexual dysfunction can sometimes be ameliorated by lowering the dose or instituting drug-free weekends and holidays in appropriate patients. Some patients find withdrawal symptoms uncomfortable. Venlafaxine can cause fatal skin conditions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, and erythema multiforme. Venlafaxine can also cause deterioration of glaucoma angle closure and seizures.

Contraindications to venlafaxine include concurrent use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors. Press ESC to cancel. Ben Davis March 11, Can I take Effexor with phentermine? Does Effexor suppress appetite? Is Phentermine How can I prevent insomnia while taking phentermine? Can phentermine cause lack of sleep? Can you take a sleep aid with phentermine?

Can I take Tylenol PM with phentermine? Can phentermine keep you awake? According to the case report, the final hypothesis attributed the psychosis to the dopamine reuptake inhibition of venlafaxine. In addition, a case report 10 published in found erotomania excessive sexual desire was induced by oral venlafaxine in a year-old female. The occurrence of erotomania appeared twice, on separate occasions, when taking venlafaxine. This theory, however, differs from Stahl's theory, 1 as he states venlafaxine is increased only in the prefrontal cortex.

Further investigation into the specific areas of the brain in which dopamine is affected by venlafaxine is warranted. This investigation, however, is beyond the scope of this article. Regarding phentermine, case reports of psychosis have been reported since the late s. First, a year-old woman with a history of bipolar affective disorder suffered from a manic relapse with hallucinations, pressured speech, and argumentative behavior patient A. Next, a year-old woman reported paranoid delusions 1 week after starting phentermine patient B.

In addition, a year-old man developed auditory hallucinations and delusions upon initiating phentermine patient C. Last, a year-old woman developed paranoid delusions and auditory hallucinations after using phentermine for only 6 days patient D.

Three out of 4 cases were resolved upon discontinuation of phentermine; however, because of a lack of information about the year-old, it is undetermined at this time whether symptoms resolved upon discontinuation of phentermine. Returning to the mechanism of action mentioned above, the increase in dopamine likely contributes to the onset of psychosis.

Finally, a case 7 published in the Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology reported psychosis induced by phentermine administration in a year-old woman with no previous psychiatric history. The woman was taking 30 to 60 mg oral phentermine daily for 4 months prior to this episode.

The patient isolated herself, became extremely agitated, and was convinced she had a transmitter placed in her head. The woman presented to the mental health clinic as these symptoms continued to persist, despite stopping phentermine 10 days prior. She was treated with haloperidol 5 mg by mouth 3 times daily. Approximately 10 days after initiation of the antipsychotic, symptoms resolved, despite the fact that phentermine has an elimination half-life of approximately 20 hours.

This specific article discussed the remission timeline, in which the 10 days of recurrent psychosis after discontinuation of phentermine was consistent with previously published data on phenylpropanolamine, a similar stimulant.

Previous cases have been reported on psychosis induced by venlafaxine alone and by phentermine alone, but not in combination. The proposed mechanisms of each of the medications are consistent with the development of psychotic-like features. When estimating the probability of the adverse drug reaction using the Naranjo Adverse Drug Reaction Probability Scale, the total score is equal to 3, indicating the reaction was possible.

Additional information is needed regarding venlafaxine and the increase in dopamine, specifically in the prefrontal cortex versus various areas of the brain. Last, specific data on topiramate's mechanism of action, specifically in appetite suppression, is lacking, and thus the potential for topiramate's contribution to the development of psychosis cannot definitively be excluded.

Abstract Background: Various publications have noted increases in dopamine, specifically in the mesolimbic region of the brain, to have a direct correlation to psychotic-like symptoms.

Case Report: A year-old Hispanic woman was admitted to the inpatient mental health unit based on reports of delusional thinking and several attempts of self-harm. Background Venlafaxine, a commonly prescribed antidepressant, inhibits the presynaptic reuptake of both serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain. Case Report A year-old Hispanic woman veteran with a past medical history significant for major depressive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, anxiety, irritable bowel syndrome, and migraines was admitted to an inpatient psychiatry unit from a walk-in clinic referral.
